• Viscosity and Viscosity Index

Viscosity is a core indicator. Common grades are 32#, 46#, 68#, 100# (kinematic viscosity at 40°C), with 46# as the general-purpose grade. The higher the viscosity index, the smaller the viscosity variation between high and low temperatures, and the more stable the power transmission of the system.

  • Anti-wear Performance

Evaluated by vane pump test (Vickers 35VQ25) and gear pump test (IP 396). The smaller the wear scar diameter, the better the anti-wear performance, which is the key indicator distinguishing anti-wear hydraulic oil from conventional hydraulic oil.

  • Demulsibility

Hydraulic systems are prone to water contamination. Poor demulsibility can lead to oil emulsification and lubrication failure. The requirement is fast oil-water separation (generally ≤ 30 minutes) with no emulsified layer.

  • Anti-foam Performance

Foam in the oil can cause delayed power transmission and cavitation. Low foam generation and fast defoaming are required to avoid “air binding” of hydraulic pumps.

  • Oxidation Stability

Determines the service life of the oil. Oxidation leads to sludge formation, increased acidity, component corrosion and filter clogging. Synthetic oils have far better oxidation stability than mineral oils.

  • Rust and Corrosion Protection

Protects steel, cast iron, copper and other metal components in hydraulic systems from rust caused by humidity and moisture.
